General Expectations of a Log Master

Chelsea BingamanGetting To Know Log Masters

We expect all employees to treat each job like it were their own home and work effectively and efficiently while paying close attention to details. Since we promote from within, you will want a positive and encouraging attitude with team spirit in mind. Doing this can allow employees to go far within our company as we want to create leaders of all qualified applicants.

Compliance and Safety Are Vital

Wearing a respirator, hearing and eyewear protection is a safety guideline for all employees when media blasting.

Log Masters Restorations employees will understand and can demonstrate general expectations, OSHA compliance, and adhere to the Confidentiality Agreement while meeting on-work site expectations and job skills of a Log Master as necessary for the position.

Room to Grow

Success in achieving your goal is an amazing and rewarding feeling. Everyone delights in triumph. However, no one is perfect. Mistakes happen. It’s what you do when you make a mistake that matters. Growth often comes from a mistake or a bad situation. Apprentices and journeymen must be respectful, welcoming criticism as an opportunity to grow as a collective and cooperative team member.

Carpentry and construction skills are an important experience as some log rot removal requires knowledge of structural integrity.

Also, you’ll respect all customers and be open to their work criticism. You and your team must help each other learn and fine-tune your skills. No task assigned by the Log Masters is too small as all work is team-oriented. By doing so, you will be accountable for mistakes and successes.

Handling Conflict

Conflict is a part of life. When in disagreement with a Log Master, subcontractor, or client, all employees are expected to discuss this disagreement with the Log Master or Management:

  • Collect your thoughts using STAR:
    • Situation = what is happening, or will,
    • Task = what you think you need to do,
    • Action = how you were doing it or want to do it,
    • Result = why you think it will happen.
  • Privately and quietly ask for a meeting or moment,
  • Away from homeowners, other employees, and subcontractors,
  • Ask for feedback, clarification, or assistance in solving a perceived problem,
  • Calmly offer constructive solutions rather than complaints only,
  • Cooperate in resolving the conflict.
